Words cannot describe how much this video irritates me! It makes me so upset to see this beautiful animal trapped in a tank and after all that Morgan has been through this is where she ends up.
The video is trying the claim that Morgan is better off in captivity but whilst claiming that, her rake marks are visible and two attacks on are seen in the filming. According to Loro Parque Morgan is deaf (which is why she cannot be released, apparently) but the video seems to state otherwise, it is clear that she may not be and this is just an excuse so they can earn some money out of her. The trainer’s, Claudia Vollhardt, pathetic statement of: “she is doing very well and not like the other orca who was unfortunately shot in the head who was stranded in Norway just a few weeks ago” is an apparent justification for this treatment of Morgan! I cannot even begin to get into this statement because it angers me too much.
It is clear from the video with the talk of urine samples and hormones that they are trying (or forcing) Morgan to get impregnated, so there you have it the statement that sums it all up; they want money! Profit is what they want, whilst putting an animal’s physical and mental well-being at risk. Is Morgan not too young to be even considered for pregnancy? They’ll force males on her, even if this comes with harassment and rake marks.
I hope for nothing but this animals release. To me, she looks miserable at Loro Parque and she is! She’s had an awful start in life and giving her a fresh start in the ocean with her family is something we can help with, to give her some faith in humanity. Morgan hasn’t been in captivity for long so she has an great chance of a successful release, visit the Free Morgan Foundation

This is the first time I’ve seen a picture of an orca eating from a longline. I wonder how many of them get caught on them and drown per year? Longlines are just bad news for all marine life.

wow so today we saw some incredible transient orcas and holy hell it was a gorgeous out on the water!
A DOLPHIN that has been isolated in St Georges Basin and more recently Sussex Inlet since September last year has been returned to the open ocean.Just a little story to brighten your day!
